Breeding Program
Here at Dogwerks, in addition to our training, we are also breeders of quality Yellow Labs and Papillons. Our goal with our breeding program is to produce a beautiful and versatile dog to do it all for you!
All of our Lab breeding stock are genetically screened free of Hip Dysplasia through the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and screened free of Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and other genetic eye conditions through CERF (canine eye registration foundation).
We only breed individuals that are very nice to look at (large heads, dark pigment, substantial size and structure), AND have great temperaments including high trainability, strong retrieve and hunt drives, and level-headedness (no bounce off-the wall hyper dogs who can't focus!)
We show our dogs in competitive AKC obedience, earning at least a CD (Companion Dog) title on all breeding candidates and also compete in AKC Hunt Tests aiming for at least a Junior Hunter title on all breeding stock.
We only produce 1-2 litters a year and we guarantee our pups to be free of show-disqualifying faults and to pass OFA. (If they were to fail, the buyer would have the option of a free replacement pup, or half the purchase price refunded. We never require you to return a dog!) We stand behind every dog that we produce and will always buy back a pup (at a mutually agreeable price) at a later date. Our pups sell for $600-$800 and go quickly, so please contact us for availability or to get on a waiting list!
Papillons:
We also raise tiny beautiful and smart Papillons. Our first litter produced two females that we kept for our program. Angel is 4.75 lbs. and a very sweet girl with lots of speed and agility. She has passed her CERF eye exam and earned her CD (Companion Dog) obedience title. Angel may start agility training soon. Dreams belongs to my young daughter and the two of them have done very well in obedience competition, earning their CD together in 3 consecutive shows (winning the class in 2 of 3 days!) and going on to earn their CDX title just one year later. They are currently trailing for UD (Utility Dog) and plan to explore conformation and agility next. Dreams is just 5 lbs with a balanced build and nice coat. She has passed her eye CERF exam.
"Meadow" (Montana Marvels mountain Meadow CDX) Is Angel's daughter and is sired by CH Fox Fire's Ken-Mar Litigator. Meadow is a lovely girl who has earned points toward her conformation championship, along with earning two obedience titles and trialing for her Utility Title all before two years of age! She has passed her eye CERF exam and has had her knees checked free of luxating patellas by Ancare Vet. Meadow has been recently bred to "Rocky" for spring 2011 pups.
"Rocky" (Foxfire's MM Rock Star) Is our adorable and personality-filled stud dog. He is just 6lbs with a long, full coat and very heavy ear-fringe. Rocky is sired by an international champion in conformation. Due to an unfortunate accident that resulted in neck damage, Rocky has been unable to be shown in conformation, but has begun training in obedience and loves to work and show-off! Rocky has sired litters with Angel and Dreams and has recently been bred to Meadow for a spring 2011 litter. All his pups so far have been beautiful and precocious!
Our Papillon pups sell for $600 as pets (with spay/neuter agreement) and are occasionally available for breeding (To be considered on an individual basis at the cost of $800-$1000)
